Tara works with many great musicians in various styles and can bring a hot, tight musical group to your event whatever the occasion may be, whether it is an intimate party or a big festival. She has performed at venues large and small and throughout the United States as well as in India, China, and Nepal. A few places of note are the National Geographic Grosvner Auditorium; The Smithsonian Folklife Festival; The Rubin Museum; Jomeoke Festival; The Embassy Series, The Nepal Academy in Kathmandu, Nepal; Wolf Trap Center for the Performing Arts; The Asia Society-Houston; The 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.; and The Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival.
She works regularly in duets, trios, and full band contexts in bluegrass, old time, Irish, and Swing jazz styles. She also gives presentations and talks about traditional musics of Appalachian and/or Himalayan areas. She often can offer a focus on bluegrass and old time and swing jazz musics and the instruments used for them as well as some of the traditional musics of Nepal.
